Welcome to SkillHouse
Overview of the SkillHouse platform — skills management, career growth, and team development. Key concepts, user roles, and quick links to guides.
SkillHouse is an AI-native skills management, career growth, and team development platform. It helps organizations and individuals track skills, set objectives, run performance cycles, and grow together — with AI assistance built in.
This guide introduces the platform, key concepts, user roles, and where to go next.
What SkillHouse Does
SkillHouse focuses on three pillars:
- Skills management — Define, assess, and track skills across your organization. Skills can be technical, domain, soft, language, or certifications. Assessments can be self, manager, peer, or AI-inferred.
- Career growth — OKRs (Objectives and Key Results), learning assignments (trainings, roadmaps), performance assessments, 1:1 meetings, and feedback and recognition.
- Team development — Manager and 1:1 facilitator views, team dashboards, project and client management, and analytics so leaders can support their people effectively.
Tip: SkillHouse is tenant-based. Your organization (tenant) has its own skills catalog, members, and settings. If you belong to multiple organizations, you switch between them from the app.
Key Concepts
| Concept | What it means in SkillHouse |
|---|---|
| Tenant | Your organization. Each tenant has its own members, skills, capabilities, and configuration. |
| Skills | Competencies that can be assessed (e.g. "React", "Project Management", "English B2"). They are tenant-specific and support semantic search. |
| Capabilities | Bundles of skills required for a role or function. Used for role profiles, roadmaps, and gap analysis. |
| OKRs | Objectives and Key Results. Personal and team goals with check-ins and progress tracking. |
| Performance | Performance cycles, self-assessments, supervisor assessments, and feedback — often scoped to projects or reporting lines. |
| Knowledge Base | Central place for internal docs, how-tos, and policies. Searchable and linked from the platform. |
Understanding these will make it easier to use the Member, Manager, 1:1, and Admin guides.
User Roles
Your experience in SkillHouse depends on your role (and permissions) in the tenant. Roles are separate from your job title; they define what you can see and do.
| Role | Who it's for | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Member | Everyone | Your profile, skills, OKRs, learning, performance, projects, People Finder, Knowledge Base, feedback & recognition, and AI assistant. |
| Manager | People who manage others in the org chart | Everything in Member, plus team dashboard, reports, performance assessments for reports, learning assignments, team OKRs, and 1:1 meeting tools. |
| 1:1 Facilitator | Anyone who runs 1:1s (may or may not be a manager) | A dedicated 1:1 view: people you facilitate 1:1s with, meetings, and read-only access to their performance and projects. |
| Admin | Tenant administrators | Full access: members & invitations, skills & capabilities, role profiles, roadmaps, roles & permissions, settings, integrations, and analytics. |
Tip: Manager and 1:1 Facilitator are separate. You can be someone’s 1:1 facilitator without being their manager, and vice versa. The org chart is based on the "manager" relation; the 1:1 view is based on "1:1 facilitator" relations.

Why SkillHouse?
SkillHouse is designed to grow with you:
- Skills stay central — Whether you self-assess, get manager feedback, or use AI-assisted insights, your skills profile is one place for growth and evidence.
- Objectives and learning connect — OKRs and learning assignments (trainings, roadmaps) tie back to skills and capabilities so progress is visible.
- Managers and 1:1 facilitators have the right tools — Separate views and permissions mean managers focus on reports and performance, while 1:1 facilitators focus on development conversations, without mixing the two.
- Admins keep the tenant healthy — Skills catalogs, capabilities, role profiles, and member management are in one place for consistent configuration.
If you have feedback or questions, use your tenant’s usual support channel or reach out to your SkillHouse admin.
