Declare interests in skills, growth path recommendations, suggested roadmaps, and AI-powered suggestions.

Interests & Growth helps you declare what you want to learn or get better at. SkillHouse uses this, along with your current skills, to recommend roadmaps, trainings, and next steps so you can pursue a clear growth path.

Declaring Your Interests

Interests are skills or areas you want to develop — not necessarily what you’re already strong in.

  1. Go to Interests or Growth (from the main nav or Dashboard).
  2. Add interests by searching for skills or capability areas.
  3. Optionally set a priority (e.g. high / medium) or a short goal (e.g. “Lead small projects”).
  4. Save. Your interests are used for recommendations and may be visible to your manager or 1:1 facilitator (depending on tenant settings).

Tip: Mix “stretch” interests (harder) with “near-term” ones (achievable soon) so you get both aspirational and actionable suggestions.

Growth Path Recommendations

Based on your current skills, interests, and role, SkillHouse suggests growth paths — sequences of learning or skill-building steps. For example:

  • “You’re interested in React; complete the Frontend fundamentals roadmap, then assess React.”
  • “To move toward Backend ownership, add the API design training and the System design skill.”

Recommendations may appear on your Dashboard, in the Interests & Growth page, or in the AI Assistant.

Suggested Roadmaps

Roadmaps are structured learning journeys (e.g. “Frontend Developer,” “Data Basics”). SkillHouse can suggest roadmaps that:

  • Match your declared interests.
  • Fill gaps between your current level and a target role or skill set.
  • Align with role profiles or career paths your org has defined.
  1. Open Interests & Growth or Learning.
  2. Look for Suggested roadmaps or Recommended for you.
  3. Click a roadmap to see its steps (trainings, assessments, optional milestones).
  4. Enroll or Start to add it to your learning and track progress.

You can follow more than one roadmap; prioritize the one that matters most for your current goal.

AI-Powered Suggestions

The platform uses AI to personalize suggestions. You might see:

  • Skills to learn next — Based on interests and adjacent skills you already have.
  • Roadmaps to start — Ranked by fit and your progress.
  • People to learn from — Colleagues who have the skills you’re targeting (via People Finder or recommendations).
  • OKR ideas — E.g. “Set an objective to complete the React roadmap by Q2.”

Suggestions update as you complete learning, add interests, or change role. Use the AI Assistant to ask things like “What should I learn next given my interests?”

Keeping Interests Up to Date

  • Add new interests when you change focus or role.
  • Remove or lower priority for interests you’ve achieved or deprioritized.
  • Re-assess skills after finishing a roadmap so your level and next suggestions stay accurate.

Tip: Review interests with your manager or 1:1 facilitator so they can align assignments and feedback with your growth goals.
