Learning Assignments

Assign roadmaps, trainings, and skills to reports; set priorities and due dates; track completion. Referente/Instructor role can assign to anyone.

Managers can assign learning (roadmaps, trainings, skills) to their direct reports, set priorities and due dates, and track completion. If you have the Referente or Instructor role, you can assign learning to anyone in the organization, not only your reports.

Who Can Assign Learning

Role / permissionWho you can assign to
Manager (assignments)Your direct reports only
Referente / InstructorAnyone in the tenant (broader than your team)

Use the right area (e.g. Manager → Learning Assignments for reports; a shared or instructor area for org-wide assignments) depending on your role.

Assigning Roadmaps, Trainings, and Skills

You can assign:

  • Roadmaps — Structured learning paths (e.g. “Frontend Developer,” “Data Basics”).
  • Trainings — Individual courses or modules.
  • Skills — Focus areas or skills to develop (may link to assessments or learning).

How to create a learning assignment

  1. Go to ManagerLearning (or Learning Assignments).
  2. Click Assign (or Create assignment).
  3. Select the person(s) — Your reports, or anyone if you’re a Referente/Instructor.
  4. Choose content — Pick one or more roadmaps, trainings, or skills.
  5. Set priority (if available) — e.g. High, Medium, Low.
  6. Set due date (optional) — When you’d like it completed.
  7. Add a note (optional) — e.g. “Focus on the React section for the Q2 project.”
  8. Save. The assignee sees the assignment in their Learning area and can start or continue.

Tip: Align assignments with 1:1 goals and performance feedback so learning supports concrete development areas.

Priorities and Due Dates

  • Priority — Helps the team member (and you) see what to do first. Use High for time-sensitive or role-critical learning.
  • Due date — Gives a target for completion. Used for tracking and reminders; overdue items may appear on your Dashboard.

Set due dates that are realistic so they’re useful rather than ignored.

Tracking Assignment Completion

You can see how your team is progressing:

  • Assigned — Not yet started or in progress
  • In progress — Started; completion percentage if the content supports it
  • Completed — Finished; completion date may be shown

How to track

  1. Open ManagerLearning (or Learning Assignments).
  2. View the assignments list or team learning view.
  3. Filter by person, status (e.g. overdue), or content.
  4. Use this to follow up in 1:1s or send reminders.

Overdue or stalled assignments often appear on the Manager Dashboard as action items.

Referente / Instructor: Assigning to Anyone

If you have Referente or Instructor permissions (e.g. instructor:assign_learning):

  • You can assign learning to any member in the tenant, not only direct reports.
  • Use the same assignment flow but choose from the full member list (or search) when selecting assignees.
  • Typical use: L&D, onboarding paths, or role-based training for people outside your team.

Tip: For your own reports, combine Learning Assignments with Team Management and 1:1s to discuss progress and adjust priorities. For org-wide assignments, coordinate with other Referentes so you don’t duplicate or overload people.
